Theme: How different personalities can lead to something good or bad.
Writing style: I like the book very much; it's a funny book and gives a good message to the reader. It's very easy to read and understand. The author does not use a lot of difficult words.
Point of view: The author's voice goes into the Charlie's feelings, but the other persons he describes from the outside.
Main characters:
Charlie Bucket: The author makes you believe that he is a good kid that has a good heart. You feel for him and it is his feelings you know most about.
Augustus Gloop: Get to do almost what ever he wants. Doesn't listen, and eats too much.
Mike Teavee: Interrupts, and doesn't listen. Watch too much TV.
Veruca Salt: Very spoiled and doesn't appreciate it when she gets things, because she gets them when ever she wants.
Violet Beauregarde: Rude and annoying, chews too much chewing gum.
Mr. Willy Wonka: Happy and kind of crazy persons with a good heart.
Summary: A boy named Charlie Bucket finds a golden ticket in a chocolate bar together with four other children: August Gloop, Mike Teavee, Veruca Salt and Violet Beauregarde to go to Mr. Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory where they get to see all sorts of amazing things. They also go to meet the Oompa-Loompas. All the children in ove way or the other get into some sort of trouble and have to leave, except of Charlie Bucket who wins, and get to bring his whole family to the factory and take over the chocolate factory and live there.
Personal opinion: I think it's a good book, but kind of childish. It's very easy to read and has a very easy vocabulary.
